Oh there are so many.
The best I have found are the following:
First the About.com French website is absolutely excellent.
It is extremely detailed, covers almost every topic imaginable, and the site’s maintainer Laura Lawless provides a free email newsletter to boot which is a fun way to keep up with things.
The about.com French forums are also really useful.
The other thing that I do is download the French Podclass. This is an excellent teaching podcast that is run by a French guy called Sebastien. It is absolutely brilliant.
I subscribe to it through iTunes.
The other thing I would suggest is reading French websites – e.g. newspapers like or.
If your french is at an intermediate level just try reading them and then trying to translate and check up words you don’t know using Google Translate. If you use firefox you can also download a firefox extension that lets you just highlight any word, rightclick and get a translation though google translate.
Finally, there’s plenty of French tutorials and teaching audio available free at the BBC website, for all levels of user.
Those are all the main resources I use (and they’re ALL free to boot!)
Enjoy.
