How do you read/respond to info on line while getting everything in real life done and not ruining your eyes?

Its great to be able to do almost everything online, but there are still MANY things that have to be done in real life on a daily basis and sitting in front of a computer ***** up time like crazy! Incoming email to be answered can be overwhelming – do I just delete newsletters at will, send out circulars to everybody to pause for awhile; let me catch my breath?! Its alot of pressure and as a newbie I could really do with some tips otherwise may just have to often disconnect from the virtual reality (which is very addictive) and deal with the reality reality. And your eyes……. is there some thing I can do to stop them from feeling like I’m swimming under water with them open?

I would suggest getting two email adressess. One for important or work related items, and one for the fun stuff. That way you only check the fun one when you have free time and don’t feel like you have to check it and answer every one. As far as the eye thing goes, it’s a good idea to take a break every now and then, as staring at a monitor for a while cause people not to blink as much. Plus I would get some eye drops, and perhaps a glare guard (only for shiny crt displays in well lit areas)

To give you a short answer… You can’t
People who spend heaps of time on the Internet have very little to do in real life. The Internet becomes their hobby.
As for your eyes… Monitor are supposed to be friendly as long as you don’t stare at them.
Also, don’t subscribe to newsletters unless you intend to read them.
Who is sending you emails? Your friends?
