Which design software would you recommend?

For creating flyers, hand programs and newsletters for promoting artistic events?. I am looking for something that is not so expensive, and that is easy to use.
Most softwares I have seen have too many features I would never use.
Any ideas?

If you use the Microsoft programmes, “Publisher” is excellent and very versatile.
The terrific freeware, Open Office also has a useful design programme, called Impress.
You can download the Open Office suite for free from the link below.
My parents have this installed on their home computer and it is excellent ~ and the price is good (free), lol
