Can one company get a court order to see the private newsletter of another company?

If they believe something defamatory about them was written….did not happen But I am wondering if a court would allow them access to a private communication? Can they get a court order to look at the newsletter?

A judge will follow the law. If the information is needed for discovery, they may issue such an order. However, that evidence would be submitted to the court and attorneys, not necessarily to the other company unless it’s needed to defend themselves.

It depends what type of publication you mean. If it was an informal publication then i guess you can’t but if it’s public and can unfairly damage a company’s image in the community then i urge one to march to their office and demand to see a copy. I f nothing defamatory was published then they would have no problem showing the piece to a 3rd person :]
