I need to design my company’s E-mail Newsletter. Any ideas on how?

I have tried a few on line companies who can track the e-mail’s for me, but their design programs are very simplistic and don’t wind up looking the same in a test e-mail. If I could design it in another “design” program and then somehow get it into an e-mailable form that would be great. I’m out of ideas! Please help!!!

Use Microsoft Publisher, you can choose from hundreds of different design templates, and then when you’re finnished you can upload the news letter to your e-mail right from Microsoft Publisher.

I work in marketing and I designed my co’s newsletter. I know what you mean about the designs looking different in the test-email. What I have done in the past is:
1. Design something in Publisher or PowerPoint
2. Save it as a PDF
3. Take a print screen of the PDF (hold down function button and print screen button at same time - just in case you didn’t know)
4. Paste the print screen into the email
Believe it or not, that is the best way I have found to keep the integrity of the design. You could always use a broadcast email service, but then you have to spend money.
I also suggest posting this question on the forum at. They have a system that awards points to users who answer questions. I usually get very good feedback from industry professionals with tons of experience on that website.

I’ve had problems like this before… the way I got around it was to do the newsletter in HTML. Then attach it to the email… this will allow them to read it in all browsers.
Another way would be also to it in Word and save it as a .doc file, it would have all the stuff like HTML

You could make an html file and send it out or a text document.

I will assume all of your recipients are expected to have HTML mail or you probably wouldn’t be asking about “designing” the mail. In that case you just need a program which allows you to design an HTML page…there are countless, but Microsoft Word is one of the most prevalent and easiest for HTML novices.
If you have no idea what you are doing in HTML you can start by finding a newsletter that you like (or even a web page) and just copy/paste the contents into a new HTML page in Word. Then you can familiarize yourself with what the controls are on the page (tables/pictures/links/etc.) and get to know how to manipulate them in the program (i.e. Word) to create your own newsletter template.
As for emailing it, you can once again just cut and paste the page from Word into your email page in Outlook for example. There are special considerations for your HTML in an email form, you can get an overview of those considerations here:
