I would like to be able to delete a message online through yahoo and get home and have my Outlook delete the message automatically so i don’t have to manually delete the email again. If I delete a email on Outlook it deletes from yahoo, but If i delete on yahoo the email is still in my Inbox in Outlook.

What free online email providers work with Microsoft Outlook?

What free online email providers work with Outlook? I know that Yahoo! does, but requires a professional subscription, and Hotmail doesn’t seem to work either. Any others?

How do I change the settings of my online email account so that messages are never automatically deleted?

Several times in the last year I have looked at my online account and emails that I wanted to save are gone. I adjusted the settings in Outlook Express so that the messages are supposed to stay for 60 days (I think that was the setting) but the messages that were deleted today were from late October. Maybe they are in some obscure folder somewhere. Can someone please help me both retrieve the deleted messages, and adjust a setting somewhere that will eliminate automatic removal of emails.

Thank you.

Why do my Yahoo.co.uk email accounts suddenly now not download to my Apple Mail (POP)?

posted by admin in External Mail (POP)

I’ve had email accounts through yahoo.co.uk for years now, and had no problems (okay, *occasional* problems) with getting them piped through POP into Apple Mail on my Mac.

But today I noticed all 4 of my email accounts on Mail were displaying the dreaded triangle of doom symbol. I’m getting timeout errors on all of them, all day long. I cannot send or receive through Mail.

I have pottered around switching between 110 & 995 and 587 & 465 on all the accounts, which generally sorts any problems out with individual accounts, but to no avail.

I have checked my settings (as shown at http://popfwd.mail.yahoo.com/pf/PopConfig?.intl=uk&.addr=&.bm= ) and all is as it should be at my end.

Everything was running fine yesterday, the day before, last week, last year, etc - just not today! I’ve checked my Yahoo accounts via webmail, nothing out of the ordinary in my inboxes, no mahoosively big attachments or anything. Just the usual batch of Facebook notifications, newsletters, personal text emails and the like.

So what’s going on?

I’m using Yahoo Mail Classic, I’m in the UK, I’m on a PowerPC G5 Mac running OSX Tiger (10.4.11) and Mail 2.1.3.

Any help most gratefully received!
