Want to send our church newsletter email, not all of our members are able to open attachments from pdf writer?

we have “Works” and when I just click the email and try to send a file that way, very few can open that. I have used the trial Microsoft Office, still can’t. What do I need to use? Or how do I need to accomplish this? It must be easy. I am a secretary, not a computer whiz. Thank you.
